Trapping Your Farmer
So… you want to learn about trapping your farmer in Farmville so they don’t have to move around on your farm, right? You’ve come to the right page. Below are some suggestions for the types of layouts that you can create with decorations bought from the market to restrict movement for your little farmer.
The Cheapest Configuration (4 Horse Topiaries or 4 Yellow Hay Bales):
The cheapest configuration for fencing in your farmer makes use of four horse topiaries. First, place topiaries #1 and #2 according to the picture below. You will need to rotate topiary #2 in order to be able to place it like so.
Then, you’ll need to place your farmer directly behind both of these topiaries before continuing to place the last two topiaries. To place your farmer directly behind the first two topiaries, click on the white space directly in front of (and between) them. This space is illustrated by the black circle in the picture below. Be sure to click as close to the topiaries as possible. Even though you’re clicking in front of the topiaries, your farmer should still walk to the location directly behind (and between) them.
When your farmer is in place, put the last two topiaries behind him/her, trapping him/her in a space between all four topiaries. Click anywhere else on your farm to make sure that your farmer is indeed trapped in place.
If you want to create a similar layout with four standard bales of hay (the yellow ones), follow the opposite directions. That is, the back of the enclosement will be created first. Then, click on an area in front of these two hay bales where you want your farmer to stand (circled below). Lastly, place the last two hay bales in front of the farmer. If you need help, see the picture below.
These configurations to trap your farmer will only cost you a mere 100*4 = 400 gold coins. Plus, you’ll gain 5 XP for every topiary or hay bale that you buy and place on your farm, giving you a total of +20 XP. Not bad at all, in my opinion. Keep reading for more configurations.
A Very Common Configuration (8 Hay Bales):
One configuration that is more common among Farmville farmers is a layout created with 8 hay bales. There are 10 different colors of hay bales to choose from in the market and they each give 5 XP when bought and used, so you’ll have lots of color combinations to choose from. This configuration for trapping your farmer can be see in the bottom left hand corner of the first picture in the previous section.
An Interesting Configuration to Consider (4 Horse Topiaries, 2 Hay Bales):
Okay, so this isn’t exactly the most aesthetically awesome Farmville creation, but it definitely works and is a pretty cheap and unique alternative. After purchasing four horse topiaries and two bales of hay, place the four topiaries in a configuration like the one showed in the picture below.
Then, click on a space directly in front of (to the left of topiary #4 to make your farmer go there. Lastly, to enclose your farmer in the space, place the two bales of hay as pictured. Your farmer may appear to be standing outside the hay bales, but when you click elsewhere on the farm, it shouldn’t move. Again, it’s not the the most appealing way to trap your farmer, since they now have their backs to you, but it gets the job done.
