Neopets Online Gaming Community Fun for People of All Ages

Neopets, a virtual world where players can adopt pets and do a multitude of things with them, has been around for over a decade. Created by Adam Powell and Donna Williams on November 15, 1999, the original business was bought by Viacom on June 20, 2005 for a cool $160 million USD.

On the Neopets website, players can create or adopt up to four pets for their account. There’s a virtual world consisting of many different “worlds” that players can visit to play games, get freebies, and buy food, books, and petpets for their pets, among other things.

On the site, players can also join an actual online guild, where they can meet and communicate with other players. There’s also a virtual stock market that works much like the stock market in real life, except with stocks based on the Neopian world. On Neopets, players can also set up their own shop and restock and sell items, as well as sell and purchase items in online auctions and trades.

Farmville Donkey Hatched from Golden Mystery Egg… What?!

jp_alex_mystery_egg

I recently read on an online Farmville forum that the Donkey was an animal that was available in the Farmville browser-based game. I had myself a good laugh before replying to the thread that this could not possibly be true. Personally, I had not seen one before (not even on my friends’ farms) but lo and behold, today when I was hatching a Treasured Golden Mystery Egg that I had found on a friend’s farm, I got a Donkey!

I had definitely not expected it, so when it happened, I was shocked. I guess the Golden Mystery Eggs really are a treasure.

The Donkey isn’t as cute as some of the other Farmville animals, but at least it’s a rare find… for now. On the plus side, these animals can be brushed every day for 100 gold coins, making them the most profitable Farmville animal. That’s actually quite a small fortune compared to what the other Farmville animals can be harvested for.

If you know of any other unique Farmville animals or items out there, feel free to share with us. I’m sure the rest of our readers would love to hear from you as well.
