Plant 5 Flowers, Get Farmville “Pretty Garden” Yellow Ribbon

Getting perfect bouquets of Farmville flowers is pretty rare. If you’re interested in getting the Farmville “Pretty Garden” ribbons and you have enough gold coins, I would recommend that you get a garden shed so that when you harvest your flowers, you’ll be able to keep any perfect bouquets that you harvest. (Otherwise, Farmville will just ask if you want to share them with your friends.)

The “Pretty Garden” Farmville ribbons are rewarded for planting a certain number of perfect bouquets (you can also find perfect bouquets on your friends’ farms) on your own farm. The first-tier yellow ribbon requires farmers to plant five flowers on their farm. As a reward, farmers will get +25 XP in addition to a gift in their gift box. (I got a Daffodil… figures.)

The second-tier white ribbon requires that farmers plant a total of 10 flowers on their farm — that’s five more flowers. It shouldn’t be a hard ribbon to earn and the prize should be better than the last, woo. Remember that when you plant flowers on your farm, they’ll only last for 14 days after placement, so while they do indeed look pretty, they unfortunately won’t be able to look pretty for long. :-(

Facebook and Zynga Continue -villle Trend, Launch Petville

Some of you are already shaking your heads at the sound of “Farmville.” Well guess what… Facebook has come out with yet another -ville browser-based online game. After releasing Farmville and Fishville, the company’s newest simulation game creation is Petville.

According to Zynga, in this online game players will be able to “raise, dress, and care for a pet” that they have created. Players can play with their own virtual pets as well as visit their friends’ houses to earn coins that they can use to buy things to decorate their own homes.

This game is similar to Neopets, a virtual game that has been around for nearly 10 years. In Neopets, players choose their own pets (up to 4) from a pre-created online selection and earn neopoints by playing games, restocking their shops, and participating in auctions, to name a few ways. In the online world of Neopets, players can also join a guild, invest in the stock market, and collect daily freebies.

Webkinz, A Hot Commodity Both Online and In Stores for the Holiday Season

Ever heard of Webkinz? They’re little plush animals that children can “adopt” and create a virtual home for. Every Webkinz plush comes with a unique code that can be entered on the Webkinz World website, where children can give a home to and care for a virtual version of their personal plush pets. The Webkinz World website features trivia and games, among other things, that allow children to play with their virtual pets.

Webkinz plush pets can be found in various retail store locations, including but not limited to Hallmark stores, Dillard’s, and JC Penney’s, as well as in various online retailers, such as Amazon.com. They’ll cost about $10 a pop but no doubt make for nice presents. I mean come on, what kid wouldn’t want to be gifted a plush animal, with a bonus online game to boot?

Webkinz animals range from bats to dogs to bears, with several varieties of each species, as well as several fantastical creatures like the Monster and the Magical Retriever. There’s also several holiday-themed animals that kids can select from, including the Minty Reindeer.
