Three Kingdoms Online Based on Ancient Chinese History

Three Kingdoms Online was first released in China and in 2008 and 2009, won the ChinaJoy “Best Browser Game” award. The game was also released in Japan and Vietnam. Because of its astounding popularity with Asian players, Three Kingdoms Online was released in English on December 3rd.

This web-based MMO game is based on ancient Chinese history and is set within the atmosphere of a divided Chinese civilization. Few browser-based games are based on Chinese history during the same period as Three Kingdoms Online, and the game development team tried to focus on both China’s historical and cultural aspects when creating it.

Three Kingdoms Online features high-quality graphics and an RPG/strategy playing methodology. Currently, the game is hosted on over 200 servers and has about 30 million registered users. As it’s a browser-based game, there’s no download necessary to play, so if you’re interested, click here, make and account, and you’ll be ready to rock n’ roll. Have fun!

Quake Live Introduces New Holiday Map and Christmas Skins

id Software, Texas-based developer of the first-person browser-based shooter game Quake Live, has recently introduced a new update for the game just in time for Christmas. The main updates for Quake Live include a new Silent Night holiday map and Santa and Vixen skins. In the game, players battle with each other, perfecting their shooting and dodging skills along the way.

Here’s some more information about the Christmas-themed updates that will be applied to Quake Live:

  • Game Changes: Support for legacy network protocols will be removed, which should mitigate any problems that result when IPX is installed.
  • New Map: Originally “Distant Screams” from the Team Arena missionpack, the new “Silent Night” map will run on servers that are set up for 32 players at once.
  • New Skins: The new Santa and Vixen skins can either be selected from the (in-game or web game configuration) menus or by typing in “model santa” and “model vixen.”
